Karina Feliz was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She has a BS in Philosophy from NYACK College and a Master of Divinity from Drew University, The Theological School. Rev. Feliz is a bilingual pastor, an Ordained Elder with the United Methodist Church, with 20+ years of experience serving in multicultural and cross-cultural multi-site parishes.
Her primary focus in ministry has been advocacy, immigration, spiritual formation, and worship. Her passion for social justice and immigrant rights led to her serving local and national immigration advocacy initiatives. She believes that each human being is called to be a sanctuary, a safe person.
Karina also loves to learn about life from her ESL students. Although writing has been one of her hidden passions, she started writing consistently in 2022; you may find some of her writings in her Substack publication, Everyday_Mujerista.
Karina finds her call in life from Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35-36: “For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger, and you welcomed me, I was naked, and you clothed me, I was sick, and you visited me, I was in prison, and you came to me.” There is no other way to love!
