Karina Feliz is a writer and consultant whose work explores the intersections of faith, culture, identity, and social justice. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, she brings a distinctive perspective shaped by her experiences as a Latina immigrant, her education in philosophy and theology, and more than two decades of work in ministry, immigration advocacy, and community engagement.
Karina holds a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Nyack College and a Master of Divinity from Drew University Theological School. Her interdisciplinary background shapes how she approaches ideas, stories, and the questions that shape our personal and collective lives. She examines the assumptions we inherit, the narratives that shape how we see ourselves and others, and the ethical questions that emerge as we navigate an increasingly complex world.
After more than 20 years of serving as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, Karina is entering a new professional chapter focused on writing and consulting. Her experience in cross-cultural ministry, immigration advocacy, and community organizing continues to inform her work, offering insight into the relationships between culture, power, belonging, and social responsibility.
As a writer, Karina draws inspiration from everyday experiences, personal reflection, and the questions that emerge at the intersection of faith, identity, and public life. Through her Substack publication, Everyday Mujerista, she explores mujerista thought, immigration, social justice, and the complexities of living between cultures. Her writing invites readers to look beyond familiar narratives, question assumptions, and discover new ways of understanding themselves and the world around them.
As a consultant, Karina brings experience, critical reflection, and a commitment to human dignity to conversations about culture, inclusion, immigration, and social justice. She values thoughtful dialogue and collaborative work that helps individuals and organizations examine their assumptions, clarify their values, and consider new possibilities for meaningful engagement.
At the heart of Karina’s work is the belief that our stories matter, reflection can open the door to transformation, and understanding one another is essential to building a more just and compassionate world.
